Paper Crafts Nᵒ. 1: Cut Paper Scrapbook Page (c. 1815)

It is uncertain whether this cut paper work, from an early nineteenth-century (c. 1815) scrapbook, was purchased ready cut or made by the scrapbooker, but it was probably the latter. Papercutting was a popular pastime with surviving pieces, such as by Elizabeth Cobbold, being highly collectible. Below is another papercutting from 1707 by Anna Maria Garthwaite depicting a fine house surrounded with gardens, church and village, with more beautifully intricate trees.
